COVID-19 Antibody Testing Has Ended
Last June – when much was still unknown about the COVID-19 virus – the Red Cross began testing all blood product donations for COVID-19 antibodies. With a majority of Americans now having received a COVID-19 vaccine and the discontinuation of convalescent plasma, the Red Cross has stopped testing for COVID-19 antibodies as of June 25, 2021. If you received a COVID-19 antibody test during a previous donation, you will continue to have access to past test results online or through the Blood Donor App
The Red Cross is continuing research efforts related to COVID-19 in communities across the country. Some donors may continue to receive outreach from the Red Cross as part of this vital initiative.
