Congratulations to Bryan S. of California who raced in to give blood this spring and is now the lucky winner of a VIP racing experience!
The American Red Cross and Sport Clips Haircuts teamed up this spring, asking donors to help keep the blood supply on track. All who came to give April 29-May 19, 2024, were automatically entered for a chance to win a trip for two and VIP experience to the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series and Xfinity Races at Darlington Raceway Labor Day weekend. Bryan was randomly selected as the winner after coming to give at a Red Cross blood drive on May 14. The trip includes round-trip airfare for two to South Carolina, three-night hotel stay, entry to the Sport Clips racetrack hospitality tent and a $1,000 gift card.
All who came to give April 29-May 19, 2024, also received a bonus $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Those who came to give April 29-May 31, 2024, also received a coupon for a free haircut by email, thanks to Sport Clips.
Thanks to everyone who made a pit stop to give lifesaving blood!
How to donate blood
Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, schedule online, call 1-800-RED CROSS or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.
