(June 13, 2017) — Calling all real-life Warriors of Light! Square Enix is joining forces with the American Red Cross to launch the Stormblood blood drive during the Electronic Entertainment Expo taking place June 13 to 15.
In conjunction with the debut of Square Enix’s second expansion of FINAL FANTASY XIV ONLINE, donors will have the opportunity to donate blood in the newly-themed FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood bloodmobile. Additional blood drive opportunities will be available after E3 as the Stormblood bloodmobile visits several college campuses throughout Southern California.
The Red Cross urges those who have never given blood before – as well as those who haven’t given recently – to make an appointment to give blood now and help sustain a sufficient community blood supply this summer.
"Whether it's in a game or in real life, everyone needs a helping hand. That's why we've joined forces with the Red Cross and their important mission to help save lives," said Morten Haugaard, marketing director, MMO, Square Enix. "The FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood blood drive will visit college campuses throughout Southern California to spotlight their vital work."

How to donate blood
A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Blood donors also can save time by using RapidPass to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. To get started and learn more, visit redcrossblood.org/RapidPass and follow the instructions on the site.
