Montage Mountain Water Park offers free admission for donors at upcoming blood drive
Presenting blood donors at the upcoming Montage Mountain Resort blood drive will not only have an opportunity to help save lives, they will also receive a voucher for free admission to the water park.
“While our guests are creating special memories and enjoying summer fun at the water park, we know that hospital patients aren’t getting a vacation from needing blood. The need is constant,” said Jesse Faatz, blood drive coordinator. “We wanted to offer free admission to the water park as our way of saying thank you to donors for taking time to give the gift of life with us this summer.”
This blood drive comes at a time when the Red Cross has issued an emergency call for donors to give now to help address a significant blood shortage and ensure area patients receive the transfusions they need. Right now, blood products are being distributed to hospitals faster than donations are coming in. Every two seconds in the United States blood and platelets are needed to respond to patient emergencies, including accident and burn victims, heart surgery and organ transplant patients, and those receiving treatment for leukemia, cancer or sickle cell disease. The Red Cross must collect approximately 14,000 blood and platelet donations every day for the patients at about 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide.
As an additional special thank you for coming to donate, all presenting donors will receive a $5 Amazon.com gift card claim code. To make an appointment, download the free Blood Donor App, visit redcrossblood.org (Sponsor Code: Montage) or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). *All offers and items are non-transferable and are not redeemable for cash.
