Congratulations to Jacob S. of Texas! Jacob gave lifesaving blood during National Blood Donor Month and was the lucky winner of the Super Bowl LIX Trip Giveaway.^ Jacob and his wife will be attending the big game in New Orleans! The couple will get to enjoy Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, access to day-of in-stadium pre-game activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare to New Orleans, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 7-10, 2025), plus a $1,000 gift card for expenses.
For the sixth year, the American Red Cross and the NFL partnered in January for National Blood Donor Month to invite football fans and blood donors to join a lifesaving team and score big for patients in need. All who came to give Jan. 1-26, 2025, were entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.
How to donate blood
Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, schedule online, call 1-800-RED CROSS or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive.
