Congratulations to Eric J. of Massachusetts! Eric gave his lifesaving type O blood during National Blood Donor Month and is the lucky winner of the Super Bowl LX trip giveaway.^
When Eric was a young boy, he experienced a traumatic injury that required blood transfusions. As he grew older and became of age to donate, he vowed to donate to the same organization that saved his life. Eric had this to say about being a regular blood donor: “If a simple act of donating blood did what it did for me, how can I not pay it forward?”
Eric is a lifelong New England fan, and this was his first time attending an NFL game to see the team play in person. It’s been a tradition for Eric to meet up with his friend Demetrios — who joined him on this trip — to watch the Super Bowl every year. When Eric called Demetrios to let him know the exciting news, he said “let’s give the couch a rest this year and go see this thing live!”
Eric shared fun photos of the experience and expressed the American Red Cross helped in “making his childhood dream come true.”
Eric and Demetrios attended the big game and enjoyed Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California, access to day-of in-stadium pregame activities, tickets to the official Super Bowl Experience, round-trip airfare, three-night hotel accommodations (Feb. 6-9, 2026), and a $1,000 gift card for expenses.
For the seventh year, the Red Cross and the NFL partnered in January for National Blood Donor Month to invite football fans and blood donors to join a lifesaving team and score big for patients in need. All who came to give Jan. 1-25, 2026, were automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LX in the San Francisco Bay Area.
