HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.— The community is invited to make its mark on humankind and help patients in need by joining Centenary University, 400 Jefferson St., Hackettstown, for an American Red Cross Humankind blood drive on Friday, May 3.
The blood drive will run from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Edward W. Seay Administration Building. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins will be accommodated as time and space allow. To schedule an appointment, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code Centenary or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
Presenting donors will receive a free T-shirt, while supplies last. In thanks, all those who come to donate blood or platelets May 1-June 10 will receive a $5 Amazon.com Gift Card via email. (Restrictions apply; see amazon.com/gc-legal. More information and details are available at RedCrossBlood.org/Together.)
By giving blood, student and community donors can leave a lasting legacy on campus and beyond. About 20 percent of the millions of blood donations each year come from young donors, like college students. The need for blood is constant, and donations collected at this blood drive can help meet the diverse blood needs of cancer patients, those being treated for sickle cell disease, accident and burn victims and surgery and transplant patients.
Since 2017, Centenary University blood drives have collected 135 units of blood, which have helped up to 400 patients in New Jersey and beyond.
