Did you know that of the 38 million people in the U.S. living with diabetes, around 8.7 million are undiagnosed? The hemoglobin A1C test is commonly used to screen for prediabetes or diabetes, both serious but treatable conditions. In August, the Red Cross will perform free A1C testing on successful donations (do not fast before you donate; one test result per donor in a 12-month period).^ You can help save lives and empower your health!

This offer is non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Limit one (1) per presenting donor unless otherwise indicated. If a presenting donor qualifies for multiple offers, the donor will only receive the higher offer unless otherwise indicated. Instructions on how to redeem the gift card will be emailed to the address listed on the presenting donor’s American Red Cross donor profile approximately thirty (30) days after attempted donation(s). ^The American Red Cross will offer hemoglobin A1C (A1C) testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, to all donors who successfully give blood, platelets or plasma Aug. 1-31, 2025. Fasting is NOT required. Donors will need to have a successful donation to receive an A1C result, because only successful donations are sent to our laboratory for testing. Donors will receive one (1) test result in a 12-month period. Testing result will be available in one (1) to two (2) weeks through the Red Cross Blood Donor App or a donor’s account at RedCrossBlood.org. A donor’s A1C test result or any other test result will not be released without written permission unless required by law. If a donor does not wish to have their donation tested for A1C, they are encouraged to make an appointment before or after testing will be offered in August.
