The American Red Cross is thrilled to team up with Pro Football Hall of Famer and blood donor Peyton Manning this January as we work together to highlight the importance of blood donation during National Blood Donor Month.
“I know how important teamwork is,” says Manning. “Now, our communities need to work together to have lifesaving blood ready to go when every second counts. I’m excited to partner with the American Red Cross to encourage you to give blood.”
The winter season can often lead to a drop in blood donations, creating a situation that can quickly escalate into a blood shortage for hospitals nationwide. Patients rely on generous donors, like Manning and you, to help them receive lifesaving treatments and procedures that can’t wait.
“Imagine you had a friend or family member who needed help. You would want to step in and help any way you could,” says Manning. “Giving blood is one way to do that for others that can have such a large and lasting impact.”
We appreciate Manning’s support of the Red Cross mission and willingness to roll up a sleeve to give blood for those in need of lifesaving transfusions. Manning believes that, “one person alone is certainly impactful, but a whole team of people coming together to donate has an even greater effect,” and we couldn’t agree with him more.
