NARVON, Pa.— The friends of Cosette Sweigart will hold a blood drive in her memory on Friday, May 3 from 2-7 p.m. at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 753 Mount Zion Road in Narvon, Pennsylvania.
Sweigart received numerous blood and platelet transfusions during her treatment for multiple myeloma, a blood cancer that affects plasma cells. She lost her battle in February 2019.
“This blood drive is something that Cosette would have wanted to participate in so that we could give back for all the pints [of blood] she received in the last few weeks of her life,” shared friend Maria Muni-Hodge.
The Cosette Sweigart Memorial Blood Drive is open to the public. Appointments are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins will be accommodated as time and space allow. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS and enter sponsor code Cosette.
Sweigart is described as a much-loved member of her church, having ran the church’s missions committee for many years.
“She was genuinely a wonderful person to be around,” said Muni-Hodge.
