Honoring those Before Me Who Gave

Albany, NY

The first time I donated was when I was 17. There was a blood drive at my high school. My mother decided to donate and I was able to donate with her. I donated here and there a couple of times over the years. But about 15 years ago, my older brother was in a car accident that required him to be mediflighted down to Albany Medical Centerbecause of a tear in his iliac artery. Needless to say, if people had not donated blood, he probably wouldn't be alive today. It was at some time afterward that I decided to give back in honor of those people who saved his life.
