I started donating blood when I was 17, my junior year in high school. A group of us boys went down to the docks and donated with dock-workers and afterwards, received a "shot" of whiskey for our trouble. I would like to tell you how many pints I have donated, I know it is close to 100, but they "QUIT" putting your donation quanity on your donation card recently thereby denying the opportunity to WIN converts for the RED CROSS blood donattion program. I am proud of my donation record and like to tell the story of my first donation. I used to be able to cap off the story by presenting AMERICAN RED CROSS VALUED BLOOD DONOR card and encourge them to join the program. Not only do you do good, you feel good too.
