13abc All-American Blood Drive

June 26, 2013

On June 28th, the 17th Annual 13abc All-American Blood Drive, co-sponsored by K-100 and The Oasis,  kicks off the Fourth of July Holiday at The University of Toledo (UT) in Rocket Hall from 7 am - 6 pm. The campaign will continue in the Red Cross Donor Center at 3510 Executive Parkway, until June 30th.  K-100 will be broadcasting at Rocket Hall throughout the day.

Everyone who comes to give blood at UT will get an All-American t-shirt, and can enjoy a hotdog from The Oasis!

All-American t-shirts will also be given at the Donor Center on kick-off day and thru June 30th.

“Summer is typically a challenging time for the Red Cross because most people are too busy to think about giving blood,” said Tracy Duncan-Fox, Spokesperson for the Western Lake Erie Region of the American Red Cross.  “But the need for blood doesn’t take a summer vacation, and we are asking that people make giving blood part of their summer to-do list.”

The need for blood is constant. Trauma victims, cancer patients, premature babies and children who suffer from sickle cell disease often need blood products to survive every day in the community.  Every two seconds someone in America needs blood.

“We truly appreciate the willingness of 13abc, K100, and The Oasis to help out in this time of need,” continued Duncan-Fox. “Come celebrate the Fourth of July holiday by helping to save up to three lives with your one blood donation.”

Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make a blood donation appointment, someone’s life could depend on it.
