Big Festivities Planned to Celebrate New Site

Bend, Ore. – The American Red Cross Bend Donor Center will be moving in to Old Mill District 815 SW Bond St., Suite 110, Bend OR, on the weekend of April 28 and April 29, 2012. The last blood drive at the former site will be held on Friday, April 27—however, Health and Safety classes will continue at the Education Center on Twin Knolls Drive.

The following are a list of activities planned for our new building.

Monday, April 30

Be one of the first to donate in our new site.
We will be open for business for our usual Monday hours 12:30  to 6:30 PM.
Call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to schedule your appointment.

Tuesday, May 8

For our media partners a sneak-peak tour at 10:00 AM with coffee and cookies.
This private tour will give access to areas with a full explanation of our new site operations and convenient features for our community.

Friday, May 11

Our Grand Opening and Open House will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.
This family fun event will feature:

  • free appetizers from the Old Mill District restaurants
  • adult beverage samples and non-alcoholic beverages
  • great door prizes from the Old Mill shops
  • Two/Thirds Trio with vocalist Michelle Van Handel
  • self-guided tours of the facility
  • free unlimited bounce house for our younger supporters!

You will also have the opportunity to visit informational tables and meet American Red Cross staff, volunteers, board members, the CEO of the Pacific Northwest Blood Services Region and CDO of the Oregon Chapters, as well as the recipients of blood products.

Thursday, May 31

Bend Chamber Ribbon-Cutting from 4:00 to 5:30 PM featuring a special reception with live music, appetizers, and beverages

The Red Cross is asking all eligible donors to make an appointment to give blood.
