December 23, 2010

When it comes to saving lives, Giants fans are ready and willing!

More than 450 Volunteer blood donors – the most in Giants blood drive history – came to the New Meadowlands Stadium on Saturday, December 18th, for the 2nd Annual New York Football Giants Blood Drive.  Organized by the American Red Cross and the Giants, the massive blood drive began at 7:00 a.m. and continued non-stop until 2:00 p.m.

The Giants organization and their fans donated more than 430 units of blood during the Annual Event. Ultimately 1,290 lives can potentially be saved because of the efforts from all involved.

All presenting blood donors received a limited edition special event t-shirt, interacted with NY Giant Alumni Football players and had access to the Legacy Club. Also two Lucky Donors received a pair of tickets each to see a classic NFL Game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the NY Giants on Sunday December 19th, tickets were provided by Bob’s Discount Furniture.

To date, fans have donated approximately 850 units of blood at Giants Blood Drives – providing a second chance for more than 2,550 hospital patients across the Region.
