KFVS12 Heartland Blood Drive Follows Red Cross Critical Need for Blood

July 29, 2011

Everyone who attempts to donate will receive a Red Cross T-shirt

Roll up yours sleeve during the KFVS12 Heartland Blood Drive.  Attempt to donate blood on Friday, August 12th between 2pm and 7pm and you’ll receive a Red Cross t-shirt, a Subway $3 gift card, be entered into a weekly drawing for a $250 gas card, and receive an opportunity to purchase discounted Rams tickets.  Most importantly, you’ll be helping to save the lives of patients who need blood transfusions.

The American Red Cross expects to collect almost 600 pints of blood at the KFVS12 Heartland Blood Drive, but only with your help.  Because each pint can help up to three people, 1,800 patients could benefit.

“The annual KFVS12 Heartland Blood Drive follows a critical shortage of blood products,” says Scott L. Caswell, CEO of the American Red Cross Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region. “We applaud KFVS12 and their viewers for answering the call to help patients in need.”

Call 1-800-RED CROSS or go to redcrossblood.org, sponsor-code KFVS12, to schedule an appointment to donate blood, and help save lives at the KFVS12 Heartland Blood Drive location nearest you.  Potential donors should be 17 years old (16 with a signed American Red Cross parental consent form), meet weight requirements and be in good health.  Donors should remember to bring a picture ID.
