Donate blood at seven locations Jan. 10-12 in Missouri, Illinois

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Dec. 24, 2012) --Roll up your sleeves with your source for Heartland news, KFVS12, and join the American Red Cross to help save lives during the KFVS12 Heartland Winter Blood Drive. Everyone who attempts to donate blood during the three-day blood drive will receive a Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last.

You can schedule an appointment to give blood on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 from 2 to 7 p.m., or Jan. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at any of the seven locations.

“Each winter the Red Cross typically sees a drop in blood donations, and each winter KFVS12 is there to help keep our supplies stable,” said Scott L. Caswell, CEO of the American Red Cross Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region. “The Red Cross thanks KFVS12 and their devoted viewers for all their efforts to help save lives.”

Blood collected during the KFVS12 Heartland Winter Blood Drive comes at an important time for the Red Cross. Blood donations typically decline during the winter, due to factors such as holiday travels, inclement weather and seasonal illnesses.
