Michigan International Speedway’s Director of Guest Services Tim Booth (center) was presented with a tribute by state Sen. Mike Nofs (right) at the state Capitol in Lansing on Thursday, February 4, as speedway President Roger Curtis looks on. Booth was recognized for his efforts in making the Spirit of America Blood Drive at MIS the nation's largest 9-11 blood drive. The Spirit of America has collected a total of 6,213 units of blood, potentially benefiting 18,639 people since its inception in 2002. Booth was also recently named The Home Depot NMPA Humanitarian of the Year for creating the blood drive, which caught the eye of the NASCAR Foundation and became the blueprint for the NASCAR Foundation Blood & Marrow Drive, hosted at 30 race tracks across the country on September 11.  (Photo by Pattrick Yockey, Michigan Senate.)
