Get In the Mud for a Good Cause

August 27, 2010

Getting muddy for a good cause!  On August 28th police officers, firefighters and EMS responders will join together at the Bryant MUDBOWL Mud Volleyball tournament for a day of fun to benefit the American Red Cross.

Teams from across Arkansas are invited and will also face civilian teams in the mud-pit.  Trophies and bragging rights are on the line, but the real winners will be the disaster victims that will benefit from the proceeds and the recipients of the blood that will be donated at Bryant, Arkansas’ Mills Park.

The family friendly event will feature food, refreshments and inflatable activities for the kids.   Randy Stribling, DRD representaqtive for the drive said, “ The Saline county Emergency Responders are a very special group.  They actively support our Badges and Hoses event and have really promoted the Mud Bowl.”  He added, “ They understand first hand how important this is and they share a very clear message to the community about the need for blood”.

Saline Memorial Hospital located in Bryants neighbor city of Benton plans to host a team and support the festivities.  Hospital staff  work closely with both communities to encourage the regular donation of blood at area drives.  Randy Fortner, CEO of Saline Memorial also serves as a member of the Greater Ozarks-Arkansas region Board of Directors.  We can’t wait to report the success of this blood drive and are proud to  showcase the close relationship we have with the hospital, the city and the people who protect it.   We invite everyone to turn out and get muddy with us on August 28th!
