Leaders Save Lives Program: Youth can earn a scholarship by hosting a Red Cross blood drive this holiday season

October 1, 2014

Are you looking for a college scholarship? Are you looking for leadership experience? Want to make a big difference in your community? The American Red Cross may have the answer for you.

The Red Cross is looking for student leaders to host winter blood drives when school is out of session. In exchange for their participation, students will have a chance to win a college scholarship up to $2,000 and a gift card up to $200.

To participate, students must:

  • Be 16 to 24 years old and enrolled in school.
  • Sponsor a blood drive between Dec. 15, 2014, and Jan. 15, 2015.
  • Successfully collect 25 or more pints of blood at the drive.

It’s not too early for students to schedule their blood drives. Learn more at rdcrss.org/YqCoZe
