Which Community Will Help Save The Most Lives!


BALTIMORE (December 17, 2013) – 98.5 ThePeak and the American Red Cross Greater Chesapeake and Potomac (GC&P) Blood Services Region are challenging York and Hanover residents to see which community can help save the most lives through a generous blood donation at our two-day holiday blood drive challenge.

York and Hanover residents are encouraged to give something that means something this holiday season and show pride in your community by donating blood on December 26th and 27th from 11am ‘till 6pm. at the York Galleria Mall or Bay City Restaurant banquet hall in Hanover. All presenting donors from the location with the most donations will be entered to win a 50-inch flat screen TV.  Come out and show pride in your community by joining us either day to accept the challenge!

Presenting donors at both locations will receive two Frank Theatres movie passes, a Red Cross commemorative long-sleeve t-shirt and a chance to win other great prizes, including a $250 Walmart gift card for each location.

About the American Red Cross

The American Red Cross has been a primary supplier of lifesaving blood products in the United States for more than 50 years. The Red Cross Blood Services - Northeast Division must distribute approximately 3,000 units of blood each day just to meet the basic needs of area patients.  Eligible volunteer blood donors are asked to please call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit to find a blood drive and to make appointments.  Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental permission in New York State), meet weight and height requirements (110 pounds or more, depending on their height) and are in generally good health may be eligible to give blood. Please bring your Red Cross blood donor card or other form of positive ID when you come to donate.
