Blood donors get icy cool prizes thanks to Blue Jackets

October 1, 2010

This September the Blue Jackets

helped make giving blood

an icy cool experience!

In their tenth season, the Columbus Blue Jackets and OhioHealth teamed up to give red for patients, and offered icy cool prizes for everyone who came to donate blood in September.

“Our team is excited to once again partner with OhioHealth and the community to support the need for blood for patients,” said Scott Arniel, head coach of the Blue Jackets.  “We hope many will join us for the ‘Hockey: It’s in Your Blood’ campaign with the Red Cross.”

Those who donated could register for a number of icy-cool prizes, including:

  • Weekly drawings for Columbus Blue Jackets/OhioHealth Prize Packs, which include two free Blue Jackets game tickets, autographed team memorabilia and a one-hour massage from OhioHealth!
  • A ride on the Zamboni ice machine at a Blue Jackets hockey game!
  • Your own LCD TV to watch the Blue Jackets at home in style!

Everyone who came to donate also received a voucher for specially priced tickets for the “Hockey: It’s in Your Blood” Red Cross Night at the Blue Jackets game on Oct. 20 vs. the Anaheim Ducks.
