Resolve to be a Lifesaver in the new year!

The annual NBC 4 & WNCI 97.9 FM Red Cross Blood Give-In is Wednesday,
January 9, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  The goal is 400 blood donations.

To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or go to and use the sponsor code “Give In.”

SCHEDULE your appointment!  A usual process time on a blood donation is about an hour.  At large drive like this one, the wait can be longer.  You can help keep your wait time closer to one hour by scheduling an appointment to donate.  Those with appointments will be taken first.

General Blood Donation Facts

WHAT’S INVOLVED: The entire blood donation process takes about an hour, and the actual donation only takes about eight to 10 minutes.

WHO CAN DONATE: The basic qualifications to give blood are: You must be at least 17 years of age (or 16 with parental permission), weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in general good health.
