1.7 million people will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Patients fighting cancer use more blood than patients fighting any other disease. And, there simply aren’t enough people donating regularly to meet the need. Only 3 out of 100 Americans give blood in a given year.

That’s why the American Red Cross and the American Cancer Society have teamed up to encourage people across the country to Give Blood to Give Time.

When you donate blood or make a financial donation, you’re helping ensure cancer patients receive the lifesaving treatment and access to care they need.

Cancer Takes So Much. You Can Help.

Donate Blood

Help patients fight cancer by donating blood. Patients who need chemotherapy during their cancer treatment may need blood transfusions because chemo damages the body’s ability to produce the blood cells it needs. Every minute, 5 units of blood and platelets are transfused to patients fighting cancer.  Schedule an appointment now – you will even have an opportunity to dedicate your donation to honor someone who has battled cancer.

Make a Financial Donation

Help cancer patients with a financial donation that supports rides to/from treatment, lodging, education. Treatment periods can last more than 100 days, and be many miles away from home. Patients unable to afford lodging or transportation would not have access to the treatment they need without support services provided by the American Cancer Society. You may also choose to support blood collection operations of the American Red Cross.
