Volunteers like you support departments as they work to provide life-saving blood to hospital patients. You’ll partner with paid staff on vital office projects such as: data entry, correspondence, preparing packets, filing and more. Share and develop your professional skills as you help others! Whether you are interested in working at a local blood drive or in an office setting, we have a volunteer opportunity available for you. We require that all volunteers successfully complete a background check and our free training session. At the direction of your local volunteer coordinator, online new volunteer orientation may be available for registered volunteers not able to attend an in-person orientation course. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Review the available positions below to find a position that suites you and join the mission of the American Red Cross today.

As a Blood Drive Assistant you can help ensure that every blood donor has a rewarding experience so they will return to save another life. Greeting, educating and serving light refreshments to blood donors at local blood drives and donor centers makes a difference. Most blood drives occur Monday-Friday during regular business hours.
As a Cornerstone Volunteer you will serve in a leadership role of support of our mission of saving lives. You are welcome to participate in a variety of ways in supporting your local Volunteer Coordinator. Recruit, train, staff and/or mentor volunteers. Distribute blood to area hospitals as routine or "stat" deliveries. Transport blood and blood products from blood collection sites to the laboratory. Deliver equipment to our local blood drives. Great customer service skills are important as you may come in contact with donors, hospital staff, Red Cross staff and other volunteers....
