Blood Drive Ambassador

Volunteers like you help ensure every blood donor has a rewarding experience so they will return to help save another life. As a Receptionist, Donor Escort or Hospitality Host you are an essential blood drive team member. Don’t wait another day to find out how good it feels to make a difference in someone’s life!

Community Outreach

Volunteers like you are the face of the Red Cross at fairs, festivals and community events. In this vital role you will educate the public about Red Cross programs, blood donation and volunteering. Every connection you build may help save up to three lives.

Volunteer Promise: Six 3-hour shifts, with a 12 month or more promise. Weekday, evening and weekend shifts available.


Every 2 seconds someone in the United States needs blood. Volunteers like you transport life-saving blood to local hospitals for patients in need. Couriers may also deliver blood from community blood drives to the Red Cross center in Portland. Volunteers must be at least 25 years of age.

Volunteer Promise: Two shifts per month with a 12 month or more promise. 

Office Assistant

Volunteers like you support departments as they work to provide life-saving blood to hospital patients. You’ll partner with paid staff on vital office projects such as: data entry, correspondence, preparing packets, filing and more. Share and develop your professional skills as you help others!

Volunteer Promise: One 4-hour shift per week, with a 6 month or more promise. Accepting applications for weekday shifts.

Team Volunteering

Groups like yours (retiree, civic, faith based, youth etc.) partner with Red Cross to ensure the success of community blood drives.  Choose to make an even bigger impact by hosting your own blood drive!  What a great way for a group to receive visibility and make a difference locally!


Whole Blood, Double Red Cell or Platelet Donor

Would you like to volunteer but have a limited amount of time?  Just an hour or two can mean a lifetime to someone who needs blood.  Giving blood is easy, safe and rewarding.

Local Red Cross Chapters also have volunteer positions in Disaster Relief, Services to the Armed Forces and Health & Safety Services.
