Blood Drive Ambassador

Volunteers like you help ensure every blood donor has a rewarding experience so they will return to save another life. As a Receptionist, Donor Escort or Hospitality Host you are an essential blood drive team member. Don’t wait another day to find out how good it feels to make a difference in someone’s life!

Volunteer Promise: Six-Twelve 5-hour shifts, with a 6 month or more promise. Weekday shifts available.

Thank you for your interest in helping your local Red Cross. You are invited to participate with us as we collect blood products to meet the needs of our community.

Community Outreach

Volunteers like you are the face of the Red Cross at fairs, festivals and community events.  In this vital role you will educate the public about Red Cross  programs, blood donation and volunteering. Every connection you build may save up to 3 lives.

Volunteer Promise: Eight 3-hour shifts, with a 12 month or more promise. Weekday, evening and weekend shifts available.

Language Interpreter (Spanish)

Language Interpreters like you are the critical link between the Red Cross and life-saving blood donors. Utilize your fluent Spanish speaking skills to translate medical information and assist at community outreach events.

Volunteer Promise: Four 3 to 6-hour shifts, with a 12 month or more promise. Weekday and weekend shifts available.

Medical Volunteer - Apheresis

Volunteers like you help guide platelet donors through the donation process. Checking donors in, filing charts, stocking medical carts and assisting nursing staff are part of the important work you’ll be assisting with.  And, because cancer patients are the biggest platelet recipients you will be making a difference in some ones life!

Volunteer Promise: One 4-hour shift, with a 6 month or more promise. Accepting Applications

Office Assistant

Volunteers like you support departments as they work to provide life-saving blood to hospital patients. You’ll partner with paid staff on vital office projects such as: data entry, correspondence, preparing packets, filing and more. Share and develop your professional skills as you help others! 

Volunteer Promise: One 4-hour shift per week, with a 6 month or more promise. Accepting Applications for weekday shifts.

Phone Team

As part of the Phone Team, volunteers like you make an immediate and positive connection with blood donors.  Join the team that thanks donors and reminds them of their life-saving blood donation appointments.

Volunteer Promise: One 3-hour shift per week, with a 4-month or more promise. Accepting applications for weekday or weekend mornings.

Team Volunteering

Groups like yours (retiree, civic, faith based, youth etc.) partner with Red Cross to ensure the success of community blood drives.  Choose to make an even bigger impact by hosting your own blood drive!  What a great way for a group to receive visibility and make a difference locally!

Would you like to volunteer but have a limited amount of time?  Just an hour or two can mean a lifetime to someone who needs blood.  Giving blood is easy, safe and rewarding.
