Volunteer telerecruiters, special event coordinators, and data entry support help facilitate the operations of the region's approximately 25 daily blood drives.
Purpose:
To support Blood Services Departments in completing clerical projects
Key responsibilities:
· Type correspondence, reports, or other documents using a computer or typewriter
· Perform data entry functions
· Duplicate documents using copier machine
· File documents
· Collate, label, assemble, alphabetize, zip code, fold and/or count materials.
· Assist with department phone coverage by taking messages and providing information as needed.
· Assist with record keeping
· Assist with other clerical projects as needed.
Time Commitment:
Volunteers must volunteer at least one shift per month to be considered active. Shift hours are mutually agreed upon, usually between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00PM.
Relationships:
· Close interaction with other staff and volunteers. Support could be provided to a variety of departments.
Qualifications:
· Dependable and responsible
· Positive personal appearance
· Willingness to work as a team
· Good customer service skills
· Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, general office procedures
· Typing, data entry or PC skills helpful, but not necessary
Required Training:
Orientation provided by the Office of Volunteers and specific task training by supervisor in department
