In the late 90's my older sister discovered she had breast cancer. She went through breast removal, and chemo. It went into remission. A few years later it came back in the lining of her lung. She ended up having to have donor platelets so my younger sister and I were her donors. The cancer eventually spread and took her life in 2004, but because of her I learned how valuable it was to be a blood donor. I don't give has much has I used to but will try to make a point to do it more often.
