I give because it hurts

A terrible train accident and lots of people needed blood. They needed my O negative blood. I had never given before and now was a good time to start. Yeah, the needle hurt, but those folks were hurting more. If my blood could save even one life, it was worth the momentary needle discomfort. You never get used to the discomfort, but I don't want to get used to the suffering of others in need of my blood. Give because it hurts.
