When I was around seven years old, I saw a movie where they showed people donating their blood. I thought is was so cool and wanted to do that myself. I thought the idea of giving up some of your blood to save three lives was amazing. The first time I tried donating, I couldn't because I was a couple pounds under. I made me so sad. The next opportunity I had, I was able to donate. When Red Cross called me that summer and told me that I saved three lives, I was more than happy. I've donated three times so far, and each time I felt dizzy and my body started heating up and I almost passed out. For a lot of people, they would decide not to donate again, but that thought doesn't even cross my mind. I'm proud to be a blood donor.
