My Gratification Statement

In 2013, I lost my job, home and my family. I made some bad choices and ultimately became homeless. However, after much counseling and attending programs, I found housing at the Bell shelter through the Salvation Army. I found employment by using the Worksource centers and the Workforce Investment Board program. I slowly began to rebuild my life and felt compelled to give back to the community. I volunteered with the Big Sunday program; I support the Salvation Army and Goodwill organizations; and the most gratifying thing I do is donate blood. I now work at an Elementary School and my family is back in my life. I still support the Salvation Army and Goodwill organizations; and I donate blood regularly. I always have a “walking on cloud nine” feeling after I donate blood. I feel very fortunate and gratified to be able to donate the gift of life. Without the above-mentioned programs I would not be successful today!
