About nine years ago, my grandma was extremely ill and rushed to the hospital. The doctors discovered that she had internal bleeding around her esophagus. She underwent several surgeries to fix the problem. Throughout this process she received 23 units of blood. If it were not for the people who donate blood, my grandma would not be alive today. I am forever grateful for all of the people who donate and save lives such as my grandma's. When I turned 17 I was able to donate. I always try and donate blood as close to the 56 days that I can. It only takes one to make a difference, but the more people the larger the difference can be. Be someone who makes a difference!
