I was kicked out of the Red Cross in the summer of 2010!! Turns out my iron count was dangerously low. I had been a regular donor for a few years. Due to my low iron, my doctor scheduled tests to determine what was wrong. A biopsy determined that Celiac Disease was the cause of my low iron count. I had been feeling sluggish for months, but within 6 months of eating gluten free I feel great. Because I donate blood, I was able to improve my health and also had my childern tested for Celicac Disease. Two of my kids also tested postive. Now they are living healthier also. Thank You Red Cross. I am back to donating.
