Forever Saving Lives

I know several people who have or have had cancer. My grandma Micky passed away when I was one year old from cervical cancer. She received several blood transfusions and would have not lived a little bit longer each time if there had not been that blood, from donors like us. My sister is 12 years older than me, so when I was growing up, I saw her giving blood for grandma and I thought I would never do it, it was too scary. I am now a senior in high school and proud to say that I gave blood for the second time today. My next appointment is in February. My sister also had cancer, ovarian cancer. Without blood donors, I might not have her anymore. But now she is cancer free and I am so thankful for the red cross. There is now a senior in the other high school in my school district who was just diagnosed with cancer. It's people like Joe who I am motivated to give blood for. I will continue giving blood until I cannot anymore. Always give blood! I love and miss you Grandma Micky!
