As a Pancreatic cancer survivor who relied on platelet/blood donations during my Whipple procedure and recovery, I was more than happy to donate back to the system especially after the hurricane Sandy disaster and discovering that my AB blood type was critical for fellow cancer victims requiring platelet transfusions. I can only pray that it helps to save lives.
