My high school hosts annual blood drives, and when I turned 16 a week before I was to give blood I got very sick with Mono. they told me I had to wait six months to donate. After six months, still having the desire to donate blood I went to sign back up but during that time it was found out that I had an enlarged heart and couldn't donate. With the right medications, my heart went back to its normal size and I was perfectly fit to donate blood except the annual blood drive had passed. I had to wait two years before I could donate blood. I was determined though and it made me feel like a lifesaver after my first time!
