Around 1990, I was approached by Central Ohio Red Cross folks who asked me if I'd be interested in platelet donation. They liked my A negative blood type! When they told me it would help leukemia patients, I was in - my dad died of complications from leukemia in 1984. I've been donating platelets monthly ever since. It feels great just to help in this way, and the Stoneridge staff of Gahanna, Ohio, is wonderful!
