responding to the call

I was a regular donor until I was overseas with the military. Upon returning home, we were deferred from donating for a year because of possible exposure to TB, then again because of concerns over v-CJD. We were finally cleared to donate again, and have been ever since. Incidentally, my father is a rare donor. Many years ago when he was truck driving, a call went out over the CB that his blood type was needed due to a massive accident. He responded, and though he had expected nothing was given a certificate of appreciation and a write-up in the paper.
