I had always wanted to be a donor but never made the time to do it. My dad was hospitilized 3 times in the past year and had two major surgeries. He received many blood transfutions. It is a weird feeling to know that the blood of a human being that had taken the time was in my dad's blood stream helping him heal. I just had to return the awesome deed and help. I've donated 2 times since then and I plan on continuing for as long as I can. I take my 2 young daughters with me everytime I donate. They know and appreciate the reason I do this. Even though they are young, they know that someone else's blood helped saved their gradpa and are so thankful. They are my cheerleaders. Even my sister who is terrified of needles has toughen up and donated. My husband and brother in law donated blood as well. They also understood the very important reason for donating.
I want to send a big THANK YOU for all the volunteers and specially the brave donors for saving my dad's life.
