When I was in 6th grade my grampa passed away from Liver cancer. During treatments he recieved quite a few transfusions. Because of the available blood he was able to stay with us a little longer. Those months were precious to us. From then on I decided that when I was sixteen I would be sure to donate. Anyone in a similar postion could agree that any extra time you get with a loved one is a blessing. I wanted to be able to make that happen for someone else too. I remember the first time, it was just a week or so after my sweet sixteen. I was turned down because my vein was too small. I was so discouraged. I felt horrible because I just wanted to give. In that situation you can't give up. The next time I went, a little more hydrated, I was able to give. Giving is my passion. So no matter what happens, dont. give. up. <3
