I donated blood for the first time when I was 16 at our high school blood drive. I loved the feeling of it and knew that it was helping many people in need. I am now 20 years old and have donated many times since. The last time I donated, they talked me into doing a double red-cell donation because they desperately need type O+ double red-cell donations. When giving a double red, they hook you up to a machine and it takes what it wants and puts the rest back into your body. It makes you fell refreshed and you feel good about yourself for helping others in need. I have decided that I will give double red-cell donations whenever they have the machines and I will give a regular blood donation when they do not have the machines.
