Once you donate, you just can't stop

My first donation was during college at a Red Cross drive in my residence hall - back then, a person had to be 18. The first attempt failed - something with the needle or pack. The nurse said, "Well, thanks for coming" but I thought, I have two arms ... so they tried the second one. I felt so good after I was done! Since then I don't know how many gallons of blood and platelets I've given (for a while lived outside the Red Cross region and donated for another organization). Now I'm also running blood drives ... it's good fun and I know it helps save a lot of lives.
