Randy Edwards

Randy Edwards is the Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Blood Services Southern Region, which includes the state of Georgia as well as parts of South Carolina and Florida.  He is responsible for all Red Cross Blood Service activities in the region, including the collection, processing and distribution of more than 300,000 blood components to more than 120 regional hospitals and health facilities.

Before joining the Southern Region in January, 2005, Randy served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Red Cross Carolinas Blood Service Region for three years.  Prior to that, he was Chief Executive Officer for the Appalachian Regional Blood Services for the Red Cross in Roanoke, Virginia.

In addition to Randy’s Red Cross experience, he spent more than twenty years as a senior manager in hospital administration, including the positions of Executive Vice President for Carilion Health System in Roanoke, Virginia and Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Health East in Roanoke.

Randy holds a Masters of Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. He also is a Certified Health Care Executive and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
