Charlie Wilcox

Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Southern California Blood Services Region

Charles E. Wilcox III serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross Southern California Blood Services Region. Wilcox oversees 1,300 employees who, along with thousands of volunteers, provide over 400,000 units of blood each year for patients transfused in 170 area hospitals.

Wilcox has worked in blood banking for 35 years, 30 of them with the American Red Cross. He previously served as Director of Field Operations for the American Red Cross Biomedical headquarters in Washington, D.C. and has served as Chief Executive Officer for full service regional blood centers in Illinois, Tennessee, and Texas.

Wilcox has a B.S. in Business Administration from Central Missouri State University and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University. He has also completed executive development programs at Harvard University and Northwestern University.
