Donor Stories

I have been a blood donor for many years. Donating blood is easy to do and can help save lives. I first donated in 1953 and became a gallon donor two years later. According to my Red Cross donor ID card, I have donated a total of 248 units of blood and platelets and that doesn’t include some of my earliest donations. I am also the blood drive coordinator for the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Church in Vancouver, Washington.

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24, in honor of Jordan Woods, an Oregon City man who is fighting a serious illness and needs blood transfusions to continue his courageous battle.  
October 27, 2015
For the 14th consecutive year, Oregon State University and the University of Oregon alumni associations – in conjunction with the American Red Cross and Lane Blood Center (part of BloodWorks Northwest) – are sponsoring the Civil War Blood Drive.
