Donor Stories

I have been a blood donor for many years. Donating blood is easy to do and can help save lives. I first donated in 1953 and became a gallon donor two years later. According to my Red Cross donor ID card, I have donated a total of 248 units of blood and platelets and that doesn’t include some of my earliest donations. I am also the blood drive coordinator for the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph Church in Vancouver, Washington.

January is National Blood Donor Month and this year, American Red Cross supporters have a new way to help save lives through blood and platelet donation with SleevesUp virtual blood drives.
