High School Blood Drive Challenge
Help your school win a pizza party and the Blood Drive High School Challenge trophy!
Help your school and your community by participating in the High School Blood Drive Challenge. Between January 14 and June 9, 2013 participating schools that meet thier unit goal and have the highest percentage of blood donation* within each division in Oregon and Washington will win the challenge.
Winning schools will host the traveling Blood Drive Challenge trophy for a year, receive a pizza party for all students who present to donate blood or volunteered during the competition, and be recognized on our website.
The Student's Guide to Blood Donation includes information for sixteen-year-old donors and required Red Cross parental consent forms. For more information about donating blood, tips on getting others involved, and advice on how to get ready for your blood donation, check out our student information section.
*If a school has two blood drives during the competition, the drive with the highest percentage of blood donations will be entered into the challenge. Trophy will remain at school until the 2014 High School Challenge. At which point the trophy will then go to the 2014 winner.
High school students play a critical role in maintaining the blood supply for the Pacific Northwest. Each year, more than 24,000 pints of life-saving blood are collected at local high schools, helping save thousands of lives. High school donors are the future generation of blood donors.
