Students Help Bring in 1,563 Blood Donations
(Nashville Tenn., April 15, 2011)
WesternKentucky University’s Greek system went above and beyond the call of duty for the American Red Cross during their annual Greek Week Blood Drive.
The March 28 Tug of War blood drive collected 123 units of blood, while the April 11-13 Greek Week Blood Drive brought in 1,440 units of blood. That’s a total of 1,563 units of blood.
Since each blood donation has the potential to save up to three lives, everyone who participated in these blood drives can feel good knowing they helped save up to 4,689 lives.
Bowling Green, Ky. is part of the Tennessee Valley Blood Services Region of the American Red Cross, which serves 57 hospitals in 70 counties in middle Tennessee, southwestern Kentucky and parts of Illinois and Missouri.
