Dallas Police and Dallas Fire Rescue to help American Red Cross in blood drive
Every year the blood reserves drop to dangerous levels and victims of accidents or illnesses could be in danger for lack of adequate blood supply, especially after the Holidays.
In order to prevent this from happening the Dallas Police Department and the Dallas Fire Rescue will enter into a friendly competition to invite the community to roll up their sleeves and donate blood on behalf of either one of those departments. The kick off drive will begin at the council briefing, 6E South with a special presentation on Wednesday, January 5th at 9 a.m. Additionally, there will be a challenge by Police and Fire in a press conference scheduled at noon in the Flag Room. The blood drive will begin Wednesday January 5th and will conclude on Wednesday January 12, 2011.
To the right, Sergeant Warren Mitchell of the Dallas Police Department and Jason Evans of Dallas Fire Rescue ask listeners to donate blood on behalf of either team. To make an appt to donate, visit redcrossblood.org.
