Southern Blood Services Region

September 13, 2010

The Atlanta Motor Speedway will host its sixth annual Drive for Life Blood Drive with the American Red Cross on Tuesday, Sept. 21, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Atlanta Motor Speedway infield Media Center. The blood drive is co-sponsored by 790 the Zone and 92.5 the Bear and aims to collect 350 pints of blood.

Each year the drive mobilizes NASCAR fans throughout the state in an effort to help meet the on-going need for more than 1,200 blood donations every weekday. The effort’s goal is to help maintain safe blood supply levels and reduce the blood shortages that often occur during the summer months and around holidays.

Every presenting blood donor on Sept. 21 will receive:

  • A Commemorative T-shirt
  • A Pace Car Ride around Atlanta Motor Speedway (Available until sundown. Vouchers will be available should conditions prevent pace car rides.)
  • A FREE Round of Golf at a participating Robert Trent Jones Course
  • A Chance to Win a Ticket Package for Two to the Labor Day 2011 Race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The package includes two tickets to each race that weekend, as well as weekend pre-race pit passes.
  • A Chance to Win a $1,000 Gas Card
  • A Chance to Win a Richard Petty Driving Experience
  • A Chance to Win a Ticket Package for Two to the Labor Day 2011 Race at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The package includes two tickets to each race that weekend, as well as weekend pre-race pit passes.
